Martin Norton
I’ve had a great many cameras
over the years, but the M9 is
the only one that has made me
want to own it again once I’ve
sold it on to pay for another
camera. It’s not just the
experience of using a
rangefi nder, in that it slows you
down and makes you more
responsible for your work, it’s
the fact the sensor gives such
wonderful results. It has been
my go-to camera for fi ne art
through to street photography.
I’ve found that I barely need to
touch the fi les in Capture One
and I love shooting portraits
with it. It’s not without faults; it’s
expensive and you have to be
wary about the fi rst-generation
sensors or be prepared for a
hefty repair bill. It’s a camera I
can’t seem to live without.
