BALANCE
By Carla Evans
Don’t expect a typical spin class at the
CycleBar. This brand of premium indoor
cycling sessions provides heart-pumping
music and a theatrical environment to keep
you moving. Co-owner Jake Maulin defines
this approach as a “multisensory, total-body
experience.” In keeping with the theme,
studios are called “cycling theaters” and are
equipped with customized Schwinn Car-
bon Blue bikes, a state-of-the-art sound sys-
tem, and lighting that changes in intensity
along with the pulse of the class. “We offer
three levels of rides, all of which enable
you to work to the rhythm of your breath,
and are geared toward a comprehensive,
high-energy workout,” Maulin says. The
CycleBar is expected to open at Mercato,
Naples, in late December—just before those
New Year’s resolutions kick in. (naples.
