Pre-cut paradise and improv
piecing are combined for quilting
fun!

About This Quilt
Jennifer took a workshop which
included improvisational slashing.
She chose to further explore this
technique by creating a quilt in
which the improv slashing was the
focus. If you prefer to use yardage,
you will need 3^3 ⁄ 8 yards of assorted
purple, green, and blue batiks.
2
Making the Blocks
With ruler at least 1" away from
corners, make a diagonal cut across
1 assorted batik A as shown.
Join 1 white batik B between cut
edges; press seams towards assorted
batik.
In the same manner, make a diago-
nal cut in the opposite direction as
shown.
Join 1 white B between cut edges;
press toward assorted batik.
Trim square to complete a block.
Varying the angles of the cuts
slightly from block to block, repeat
steps to make a total of 42 blocks.
