Map 4. 1815 The Congress of Vienna restored France to the Bourbons following the Napoleonic Wars, reaffirmed conservative monarchical rule in the major European powers, andestablished the Concert of Europe that maintained peace among these states for decades. The Quadruple Alliance of 1815 (Alliance no. 3.1137) became the mechanismfor assuring France’s place within the collective security system, while the Treaty Establishing the German Confederation (Alliance no. 3.1134) affirmed the territoriesand powers among the monarchies in central Europe.
