Narrative: This dispute describes Portuguese-German clashes in Africa near the start
of World War I. Germany was actively attempting land grabs while also inciting tribal
revolts against the Portuguese. Portugal sent reinforcements to Angola in September
1914 and effectively closed its colonial border with German South-West Africa. An
