Narrative: The Japanese occupied Vladivostok after the Allies withdrew completely
from Siberia. A series of clashes between the Japanese and Bolshevik forces followed.
Britain and the United States began to worry that Japan had territorial ambitions in
Siberia. Both put intense diplomatic pressure on Japan to withdraw. That pressure,
combined with domestic opposition for the Japanese regime, forced the withdrawal
in October 1922.
