Narrative: Rwanda involved itself in the Zairean civil war, first with exchanges of

Narrative: The Second Congo War followed a little more than one year after the First
Congo War when Congolese President Kabila reversed course and rescinded military
aid from Rwanda and Uganda. This allowed Hutu armies in eastern Congo to regroup,
prompting both Rwanda and Uganda to invade. A prolonged conflict followed with
Angola, Namibia, and Zimbabwe, backing Congolese government forces against rebel
groups and Rwandan and Ugandan military.
