Narrative: After the peace agreement between Egypt and Israel, Egypt faced an enor-
mous backlash from the Arab community. Libya mobilized troops to the border, and
Egypt moved the forces that had been aimed at Israel to its border with Libya.

was a defensive move. Libya and Egypt had engaged in several border disputes. The
final break between the two countries came when Egypt signed a peace treaty with
Israel.
