са�мый to translate the superlative:
Алексе�й Ива�нович – лу�чший врач
‘Aleksey Ivanovich is the best doctor’.
There is an alternative superlative ending in -eйший. To form this, remove
the -ый, -ий or -о�й from the masculine form of the adjective and replace it
with -ейший. These adjectives decline like the mixed adjective хороший� :
Он име�ет де�ло c серьёзнейшими слу�чaями
‘Не deals with the most serious cases’.
Often this form is not used as a true superlative but rather to give added
force of meaning to the adjective:
СПИД – опа�снейшая боле�знь
‘AIDS is a most dangerous disease’.
After ж, ч, ш, щ, the ending is -айший rather than -ейший:
вели�кий – велича�йший;
глубо�кий – глубоча�йший;
коро�ткий/кра�ткий – кратча�йший;
лёгкий – легча�йший;
стро�гий – строжа�йший;

Replace the adjectives with both forms of the superlative.
For example:
МГУ – ста�рый университе�т страны�.
МГУ – са�мый ста�рый университе�т страны�.
МГУ – старе�йший университе�т страны�.

2 Пу�шкин – вели�кий ру�ccкий поэ�т.
