A short day of riding took us to Half Moon Bay, which offered camping. The few
trees barely protected us from the ferocious wind, and pitching a tent became
an acrobatic act. Afterwards there wasn’t a great deal to do but hide in the
tents.


Half Moon Bay – San Francisco - 55km

Mercifully, the wind eased during the night and the day dawned calm and
sunny. A brilliant fog-free ride led into San Francisco along a bicycle path that
ran through the Golden Gate Park, providing stunning views of the Golden Gate
Bridge, the city and Alcatraz Island.
