Teams of the hosting University
of Malaga left no doubts to
the other teams, winning gold
medals in both the women’s and
men’s competitions. Women’s
team won 2:0 against the
Karoli Gaspar University of the
Reformed Church from Hungary.
Third place on the podium was
reserved for the team from
University of Zagreb.


In the men’s final, the University
of Malaga team won against the
University of Zagreb, champions
of the 2019 edition of European
Universities Beach Handball
Championship held in Zagreb.
The bronze medal was handed
to the team from University of
Bordeaux.


Beach Handball is included
among the 17 sports disciplines
featured in the upcoming
7 th edition of the European
Universities Games in Debrecen-
Miskolc, 2024.


Malaga will remain the host city
for the European Universities


Beach Sports Championship
in 2025 as well. The stunning
beaches of Rincon de la Victoria
and Torrox eagerly extend an
invitation, offering their beauty,
sandy shores, and favourable
weather once again to welcome
athletes ready to compete and
vie for championship titles in
Beach Volleyball and Beach
Handball. The championship is
scheduled to take place from
September 19 to 24, 2025.
