following World War II. Finally, the Postscript discusses the impact of the
return after 1950 of articulations of crude anti-Dönme rhetoric, culminat-
ing in attacks on descendants of Dönme, including an attempt in 1952 to
assassinate Ahmet Emin Yalman.
