The Gray’s on Deck youth base-
ball team is excited to announce a
community-wide pop bottle and can
fundraiser to support their upcoming
trip to see the Chicago White Sox
vs Oakland A’s. This fundraiser is
a crucial step in helping the young
athletes achieve their dream of expe-
riencing professional baseball up
close, said spokesperson Brittney
Dowdy.
The Gray’s on Deck team is col-
lecting pop bottles and cans from
local residents and businesses. The
proceeds from recycling these items
will go directly towards funding the
team’s trip, which includes transpor-
tation, for the team and families.
Returnables are being collected
Tuesdays and Saturdays at Claude
Evans Park in Battle Creek through
June 22. Collection times are
Tuesdays from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and
Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. to 3

“This trip is not just about watch-
ing a game; it’s an opportunity for
our players to be inspired by pro-
fessional athletes, learn the value
of teamwork, and create lifelong
memories.” Community members
are encouraged to participate by
donating their empty pop bottles and
cans. To arrange a pickup or for

Gray’s on Deck team manager
Christa Dufraine extends her heartfelt
thanks to all community members for
their support, said Dowdy.
“Together, we can make this trip a
reality for our young athletes,” said
Dowdy.
Gray’s on Deck was created to pro-
vide kids – especially inner-city kids
