The commencement ceremony
then continued with Valedictorian
Dru Koster speaking at the podium.
Koster opened by thanking the
individuals who helped her achieve
this milestone.
“I’d like to thank my Mom and my
Dad for always being there for me
and showing me endless kindness
and love,” Koster said. “This transi-
tion into adulthood is inexplicably
treacherous and we all need to learn
how to be our own people, paint
our own paths and create our own
versions of success. We’ve all lived
through a vast variety of hardships
all throughout our lives, especially
during recent years, but they don’t
define us or our future.”
Koster is planning her undergrad at
the University of Michigan majoring
in Medical Science.
Koster’s parents are Deborah and
Mark Koster.
Several other speakers took the
opportunity to share well-wishes
and congratulatory remarks for
the graduating class, including

Greenman then added his final
sentiment, saying: “It’s finally time,
time to make this thing official. So,
to signify your graduation, please
move your tassels from right to left.
Ladies and Gentlemen (*to much
applause), it is my pleasure to pres-
ent to you, the new alumni of Harper
Creek High School, the graduating
class of 2024!”
