Whitmer also wants to make the

The sky over Battle Creek is going
to come alive with jets and other air-
craft July 3-7, but there will be some
special attractions on the ground, as
well.
Skerbeck Entertainment Group
will be returning to the Battle Creek
Executive Airport with its popu-
lar carnival, says Bretten Bailey,
spokesperson for the Field of Flight.
Skerbeck’s lineup includes rides
for every age group, including the
Supernova 360 and the Top Gun.

Entertainment. (Photo provided)
According to Sonja Skerbeck,
marketing director for Skerbeck,
“The Battle Creek Field of Flight has
become one of our favorite shows.
The spectators and customers are all
so nice and they really responded to
the quality of our midway.”
Customers can make credit card
purchases ahead of the festival, and
she said redemption of wristbands is
speedy with a bar-code scanning sys-
tem at the ticket boxes.
Carnival tickets are on sale at
http://www.skerbeck.com.
Advance sales cut off at noon on
July 3, but wristbands and tickets
may still be purchased with cash at
the ticket booths.
The carnival will be open July 3-6,
but not on Sunday, July 7.
However, festival organizers are
bringing Air Show Entertainment/
Bouncin’ Binz to Battle Creek to
hold its Thunderbirds package on
Sunday in place of the carnival.
“We’ve never had attractions like
this before and we truly believe that
the kids and adults are going to love
them” said Bailey.
The company specializes in
aviation-themed attractions, which
include Thunderbird go-karts,
a Thunderbirds-themed bounce
house and slide, a mechanical
Thunderbirds jet (like a mechanical
bull), a Freedom Stunt Jump and an
Eliminator Challenge game, among
many others.
Another Field of Flight first will
be DreamBIG, LLC, with its F/A-18
Hornet Top Gun Cockpit Experience.
This mobile aviation museum gives
spectators a chance to climb into the
cockpit of this F/A-18,
which painted to look
like Pete “Maverick”
Mitchell’s from the
movie “Top Gun:
Maverick,” take a tour
and also get their photos
taken.
The Field of Flight will
also feature a wide array
of food vendors, as well
as military branches with
attractions and booths.
Tickets for the 2024 Field of Flight
are on sale now at http://www.fieldofflight.
