The Michigan High School Athletic
Association’s 2024 Softball Championships took
place last weekend at Michigan State University’s
Secchia Stadium with the playing of four divi-
sional title games.
None of the four Saturday, June 15 title tilts,
however, involved a local squad this year – as
the farthest any local team made it in the postsea-
son this spring were coach Jason McCullough’s
Lakeview High Spartans.
Lakeview was the only local team to win an
MHSAA district crown – defeating Jackson 17-0
in three innings in the semifinals and then Holt
10-6 in a Division 1 district final played on June 1
at LHS.
