Robert (Bob)
Ellsworth Davis
II (aka PMF)
was called
home on June
6, 2024, sur-
rounded by his
daughters and
grandchildren
at his home in
Irons, Michigan,
at the age of 89.
He was born
December 15,
1934, in Battle Creek, Michigan, to Robert
E. Davis and Cornelia (Corky) Davis.
Bob (Poppa) was a father, grandfather,
great-grandfather and friend.
Bob retired from West Michigan
Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 174 after
45 years of service. After retirement from
Local 174, he hauled across the country
for Bennett Transport out of Indiana, which
he loved. Bob and former wife Carol Davis
owned and operated M-55 Market in
Wellston, MI, from 1980-1985. He also had
his own landscaping business in Battle
Creek, MI, in his earlier years.
Bob was a huge NASCAR fan with
an incredible collection of cars. He also
enjoyed doing photo shoots and writing
for Vette Vues Magazine, riding his Harley,
and loved the hunting of nearly all species.
His most favorite hunting adventures were
with his great friend, Larry Moffatt, out
West in the early years. He was an avid
outdoorsman, loved his collection of guns,
and was an incredible man of knowledge
on most all subjects. Most of all, Bob
adored spending time with his grandkids
and great-grandkids, along with watching
“his swans” come to the lake every year to
have and raise their family.
Bob has been a Mason for 23 years
with Grand Lodge of Michigan, Manistee
Lodge #228 F. & A.M.
He was preceded in death by his par-
ents, as well as his beloved son, Robert
(Robbie) E. Davis III of Hernando, Florida.
Bob is survived by his daughters,
Michelle Norton Cedar Springs, MI,
and Melissa (Dan) Kasarskis of Irons,
MI; daughter-in-law Brenda Siemer of
Hernando, FL; grandchildren Brittany
Stumbrie of Irons, MI, Daniel (Aryn)
Kasarskis of Irons, MI, and Taylor (Nick)
Schilling of Wellston, MI; and five beauti-
ful great-grandchildren, Maxwell, Alivia,
Christian, Roy and Sophia. He is also
survived by his best buddies, Paul “Red”
Veldman, Jesse Cisneros, and favorite
mechanic, Gary Riggs; and special friend
Glenda Brooks of Muskegon, MI, whom
he loved dearly.
Bob’s final wishes were not to have a
funeral service but to have Bob’s (aka
PMF) Backyard BBQ Celebration. This will
be held on July 13, 2024, at 3 p.m. at his
home in Irons. Please contact the family
for further details, if needed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribu-
tions can be made to Michigan Masonic
Charitable Foundation or Hospice of
Michigan in his name.
