The annual Harper Creek Optimist
Open Tennis Classic Tournament
will be held Friday through Sunday,
Aug. 2-4, at the Harper Creek High
School Tennis Complex – and
there’s still time to sign up for the
event.
The Harper Creek Optimist Open
Tennis Classic is the only open ten-
nis tournament in the local commu-
nity for youth and adult players.
Tournament director Dr. Craig
Miller of the Optimist Club noted
that there will be a doubles divisions
for adults, as well as a singles divi-
sion for youth ages younger than 15

Youth may sign up with an adult

for the doubles divisions, Miller said.

A doubles team could consist of two

youth, a youth and an adult, or two

adults.

Balls, shirts and prizes will again be

provided – and in case of rain, match-

es will be played at Minges Creek

Racquet Club.

Interested players are urged to sign

up before the July 30 entry deadline,

so the proper number of shirts and

prizes can be determined.

The four divisions offered again this

summer are Youth Singles 14, Men’s

Doubles A & B, Women’s Doubles A

& B, and Mixed A & B.
