The Northwoods League this season
is made up of 26 teams in four divi-
sions – with the Great Lakes East
Division being made up of the cur-
rent first-place Kalamazoo Growlers
(15-9), second place Traverse City Pit
Spitters (15-10), third place Rockford
Rivets (14-10), fourth place Royal
Oak Leprechans (12-13), fifth place
Kenosha Kingfish (11-13), sixth
place B.C. (8-16) and seventh place
Kokomo Jackrabbits (7-17).

The Battle Creek Battle Jacks base-
ball team of the summer collegiate
Northwoods League earned one
victory and suffered three losses in
games between last Thursday (July
25) and last Sunday (July 28) as the
squad gets closer to the conclusion of
its 2024 campaign.
In last week’s games following
a July 22-24 for the Northwoods
League All-Star event:



  • On Thursday, July 25, the Battle
    Jacks defeated the Kenosha Kingfish
    11-6 at Battle Creek’s C.O. Brown
    Stadium in Bailey Park – a game that
    had an attendance of 2,857.

  • On Friday, July 26, also at home,
    the Battle Jacks lost 5-1 to Kenosha.

  • On Saturday, July 27, B.C. lost
    to the host Traverse City Pit Spitters
    14-5.

  • And then, on Sunday, July 28,
    also at Traverse City, the Battle
    Jacks lost 6-5.
    That 1-3 mark gave the Battle
    Jacks an 8-16 record for the league’s
    second half, and an overall season
