Back-to-School event at the Y Center
Multisports Complex (3-6 p.m.), the
community is once again rallying
behind its children.
Just last Thursday, the Trinity
Neighborhood Center held its fifth
annual Back-to-School event attend-
ed by nearly 300 people.
“This was the first event we ever
did,” said Pastor Janet Wilson, direc-
tor of the Trinity Neighborhood
Center on Bidwell Street. “So we’ve
done it since 2019 in some form.
Sometimes it’s been outside. During
COVID, we did drive-by bags so it’s
our fifth year.”
Wilson said the turnout tends to
indicate the ongoing need.
“Just the level of need we see for
essential things like groceries,” she
said about why it continues. “And, I
