Johnson, 77,
passed away
August 8, 2024.
She was born
January 31,
1947, in Battle
Creek, Michigan,
to Leon Johnson
and Juanita
(Plunkett) White.
She enjoyed knitting, crochet, puzzles
and watching TV.
Betty is survived by her daughters,

Peggy Lahusky and Brenda Lee Wollard;
grandchildren Rachael Jung, Bryan
Lahusky, James Bennett, Bobbi Axtell;
great-grandchildren Billi, Dixie, Waylon,
Chasity; sister Carole; and brother John.
She was preceded in death by her par-
ents; and brother David.
At this time and to honor her wishes,
cremation has taken place and no ser-
vices will be held.

Wagner
Bridges, AKA
“Turtle D,”
was born April
13, 2013, in
Battle Creek, MI.
Derek gained his
angel wings on
July 15, 2024.
Derek was
preceded
in death by his big sister, Jazzlynn
Bridges; great-grandpa Larry Bridges;
great-grandmas Diane Bridges, LuAnne
Bridges; and his uncles Buddy Hall and
Vince Bridges.
Derek is survived by his mother, Kellie
Bridges; sister EmmaLynn; grandpar-
ents Carl and Mary Bridges; and many
aunts, uncles and cousins that he loved
so very much.

Derek was taken too soon, but
touched so many lives in his short time.
He loved motorcycles, especially his
own, fishing, and playing video games.
Derek enjoyed the outdoors and being
near water. His favorite football team
was MSU and loved anything that was
the color blue. Derek was your typical
boy with a one million dollar potato chip
smile.
Visitation took place at Baxter Funeral
& Cremation Service on Saturday,
August 3, 2024, from 5-8 p.m.
Funeral services to celebrate the life
of Derek were held at Baxter Funeral &
Cremation Service on Monday, August
5, 2024, at 11 a.m. Interment followed
at Bedford Charter Township Cemetery.

Lee Cranick Jr.,
13, unexpectedly
passed away
on Saturday,
August 3, 2024.
P.J. was born
September 17,
2010, in Battle
Creek, MI, the
son of Ashley
Fox and Paul Cranick.
P.J. was one of a kind with his big
eyes and contagious smile. P.J. was a
fighter from day one, fighting just to
be normal, fighting to make it through
another seizure and so much more in
between. He loved to play outside, play
on his phone and ride or watch motor-
cycles. P.J. loved his family very much
and touched many people in his short
time on Earth.
P.J. is survived by his mother, Ashley
A. Fox (George Clawson); father, Paul
Cranick; bonus dad, Tony Rice; god-


mother, Christina (Neil) Perry; brothers,
Logan Fox, Noah Cranick; stepsister,
Madlyne Albright; grandfather Bruce
Cranick; grandmother Janet Cranick;
uncles Donnie (Morgan Shepard) Funk,
Butch (Rebecca Denton) Williams,
Timothy (Christen Klein) Flansburg,
James (Angel) Cantrell; aunts Nicole
(Josh) Burns, Brooke Lewis, Mandi
(Shayne Kritzman) Williams, Breanna
Meehan; and many cousins.
P.J. was preceded in death by his
maternal grandparents; all great-grand-
parents; his aunt; and a couple great-
uncles.

Wednesday, August 14, 2024, from 2-
p.m. A celebration of life followed at
5:30 p.m. at 190 Lathrop Ave., Battle
Creek, MI 49014.

Jamie L.
(Mason)
Dentler, 48, of
Battle Creek,
sadly passed
away Monday
evening, August
5, 2024, at
Bronson Battle
Creek Hospital.
She was born in
Battle Creek on November 15, 1975, and
was the loving daughter of Lyle and Jill
(Sines) Mason.
Jamie is survived by her son Harley
Dentler; her parents, Lyle and Jill
Mason; and her brother, David Mason.
She was sadly preceded in death by
her son Corey Patrick Lee on September
19, 2021.
Jamie had a great love for the water
and enjoyed going to the beach or pool


and watching boat races. She had a
large collection of all types of knick-
knacks and for many years enjoyed
playing on the Maple Methodist Church
softball and volleyball teams. Jamie had
a great love for all animals, but espe-
cially her pets and her cat, Mouse.
A memorial service to celebrate
Jamie’s life will be officiated by Rev.
Linda D. Stoddard at 2 p.m., Friday,
August 16, at Maple Methodist Church,
342 Capital Ave. N.E., Battle Creek, MI
49017.
