    Piasecki (Muskegon Mona Shores)
    was the Pit Spitters’ shortstop last
    Saturday, going 4-for-6 with three
    runs scored, one triple and one RBI.
    For the summer, Piasecki batted
    ,329.

  • And, also for T.C., Ickes – KCC’s
    closer with double-digit saves this
    past spring whose hometown is
    Dowagiac and who graduated from
    Coloma High – was the winning
    pitcher, going four innings on the hill
    and allowing only one hit with one
    strikeout.
    Aside from last Saturday’s season-
    ender for B.C., following are the
    Battle Jacks’ other results from last
    week’s games:

  • Monday, Aug. 5: Won 5-0 at
    home vs. Rockford.

  • Tuesday, Aug. 6: Lost 6-5 at
    home vs. Rockford.

  • Wednesday, Aug. 7: Lost 4-3 at
    Kokomo.

  • Thursday, Aug. 8: Lost 18-5 at
    Kokomo.

  • Friday, Aug. 9: Won 5-3 at home
    vs. Traverse City.
    In the Aug. 5 home win over
    Rockford, Adrian Rubio (Eastern
    New Mexico University/El Paso,
    TX) was the winning pitcher in relief
    of McVicker, working 4.1 innings
    and allowing one hit with two walks
    and six strikeouts. And Hultink was
    hit by a pitch, scored a run and post-
    ed an RBI on a fielder’s choice.

  • And, in the Battle Jacks’ 5-3
    home win vs. Traverse City last
    Friday (Aug. 9), Anthony Sanchez
    (Viterbo University of La Crosse,
    WI and hometown of Fontana, CA)
    pitched 4.1 innings and gave up only
    two hits with 10 strikeouts. The start-
    ing pitcher for B.C. was Camdyn
    Martindale (St. Peters University of
    New Jersey/hometown Post Falls,
