back-to-school fair said the event
usually distributes more than 90 per-
cent of its available supplies.
The surplus will be added to the
inventory of their clothes closet for
families that visit the center over the
next few weeks.


“They next few weeks, we’ll
stock up and if we have a lot,”
said Wilson, “we’ll take them to
CityLinC. It just goes.”
Rochette said she planned to
accommodate 200 school children at
this year’s event.
“It’s just been growing every year,”
she said, “since we started.”
School starts at Battle Creek
Area Catholic and at Harper Creek
Community on Aug. 19, at Lakeview
School District and at Battle Creek
Central on Aug. 21, at Pennfield on
Aug. 26 and at Calhoun Community
High School on Sept. 3.
