My brother,
Ronald Marc
Schuetter,
ran into God’s
arms, on
August 21,
2024, at Rose
Arbor Hospice
in Kalamazoo,
MI. He was
born July 8,
1949, to Herman and Velma (Smith)
Schuetter.
Ron was a Battle Creek Central
High School graduate and worked
for various employers in the Battle
Creek area, including Eaton’s,
Norman Produce and Family Fare.
He loved working in the grocery
business. Ron was also a former
member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Ron loved all animals and always
had a special bond with them. He
was a caregiver and loved his cat
family. If cats weren’t being cared for
at the mobile home park, he would
take them to the vet and pay the vet
bill out of his own pocket.
Ron took great pride in his lawn
and could often be seen mowing,
trimming around his home and
watering the plants.
Ron’s life wasn’t always easy, but
he never wavered in his love for
his family, friends and animals. He
loved to laugh and tease (which as
his sister, I didn’t always appreci-
ate).
Ron is survived by his sister,
Carole (Paul) Orr; nephews Daniel
T. (Trisha) Orr, Paul H. (Sarah) Orr;
grandnieces Olivia Orr, Cairo Orr;
and grandnephew Tanner Orr.
There will not be a formal memo-
rial service, but we invite you to join
us for our “Barn Party” memorial to
pay tribute to a truly good person
at his sister Carole’s home, 5155
E Drive South, Battle Creek, MI
49014, on Saturday, September 7,
2024, from 3-5 p.m.

Kubitz, 75, of
Battle Creek,
Michigan,
passed
peacefully
at home on
Wednesday,
August 28,- She was born in Battle
Creek on November 15, 1948, the
daughter of Nelson C. and Vera L.
(Dennis) Sabin.
After attending Penfield High
School, she attended KCC classes
and was employed at Michigan
National Bank and State Farm
Insurance.
Diana married Gary Kubitz in
Battle Creek, Michigan, on June 29, - Diana’s life was a testament
to her love for her family, friends
and the Brittany breed. Her passion
led her to numerous achievements,
including the 1992 National Brittany
Amateur Field Championship with
her Brittany “Dual and Amateur
Champion Renegades Kansas Kid
Hall of Fame.” In 2022, she was
inducted into the Brittany Field
Trial Hall of Fame. She dedicated
50 years to advocating, handling,
breeding, and playing supporting
roles, and held many offices in the
Battle Creek Kennel Club, Western
Michigan Brittany Club, and
American Brittany Club.
Diana will be remembered for all
of her contributions to the Brittany
breed, and her family and friends.
Always there with advice and sup-
port, her vibrant spirit shining
through. She loved her family, her
Brittanys, chocolate, flowers, and
a good celebration. Always cheer-
ful and bright, she loved anything
magenta and purple.
She is survived by her husband,
Gary Kubitz; her brother, Nelson
(Wendy) Sabin; her nephew, Travis
(Angel) Sabin; and her niece,
Sabrina (DJ) London.
Diana was preceded in death by
her parents, Nelson C. and Vera
L. Sabin; and her sister, Mary Jo
Sabin.
The family of Diana Kubitz would
like to express their heartfelt grati-
tude for your support during this dif-
ficult time. A celebration of Diana’s
life will be held at a later date.

Johnny was
born to Farmer
and Maxie
(McJunkin)
Scarbrough on
June 29, 1944,
in Battle Creek.
Johnny’s professional life was
marked by over three decades of
dedicated service as a groundskee-
per at Gull Lake View Golf Resort,
where his passion for green spaces
could thrive. He also contributed
several years of hard work to Clark
Equipment. Johnny’s commitment to
his profession was second only to
his devotion to his loved ones.
He is lovingly remembered by
his daughter Paula Scarbrough;
grandchildren Nathan and Ryan
Green; sisters Kay Cross and Karen
(Bill) Anthony; half-brother Jerry
Scarbrough; dear friend Sherry
Richey; and work friend Robin
Taylor.
He was preceded in death by his
wife, Karen Scarbrough; daughter
Donna Scarbrough Green; half-
brother Ron Scarbrough; and Pam,
the mother of his daughters.
Johnny’s zest for life was evident
in his hobbies. He found joy in play-
ing golf, a sport he once taught
at Fort Ord in California, bowling,
fishing, tending to his garden and
spending time with his beloved cat,
Wyla.
A graveside service will be held in
the spring of 2025 at Cedar Creek
Cemetery.
