Lucky Rooster and One Nation
restaurants in Battle Creek are join-
ing forces for their first annual Breast
Cancer Fundraising Walk, “Walk
the Walk,” set for Saturday, Sept. 28
starting at Lucky Rooster at 1299 E.
Columbia Ave.
The two businesses, owned by
Stephen Titus, have teamed up
with the Battle Creek Community
Foundation to stage the event,
said Restaurant Manager, Austin
Suedmeyer.
Sign-up begins at 8 a.m. that day
and the walk steps off at 10 a.m., pro-
ceeding westbound on Columbia on
a designated path, concluding at One
Nation Tap and Table.
There will be a midway stop with
water and restroom facilities and
transportation will be provided back
to the starting point for all partici-
pants.
“Following the walk,” said
Suedmeyer, “join us for an array
of enjoyable extras and children’s
activities, including a bounce house,
games, food and drinks.”
All proceeds, he said, will support
breast cancer awareness efforts of
the Connected Communities Cancer
Control Coalition.
“Vendors will be on site distribut-

ing educational materials,” he said,
“related to health and personal well-
being.”
Suedmeyer said this is the first
annual event, after having held the
inaugural event last year.
“It’s just been a passion for him and
he just stuck with it,” said Suedmeyer
of Titus. “It’s just one thing he did
one day and wanted to keep gaining
on it. I don’t believe anybody in his
family has had breast cancer but there
could be someone who may be a sur-
vivor, I’m not sure. All I know is it’s
something he decided one day that he
wanted to do and he just ran with it.”
Anyone wanting to pre-register can
call (269) 962-0800 or email onena-
[email protected].
“The Lucky Rooster/One Nation
Breast Cancer Walk aims to make a
significant impact in the fight against
breast cancer,” he said, “by fostering
a sense of community, raising vital
funds and promoting awareness. Your
participation will contribute to these
essential efforts and bring hope to
those affected by this disease.”
