Grace Health celebrated National
Health Center Week (Aug. 4-10), an
annual celebration that highlights the
essential role that Community Health
Centers play in improving public
health and advancing health equity,
said spokesperson Diane Craig.
“Health centers represent the
nation’s largest primary care net-
work, serving 31.5 million patients
nationwide with a mission to pro-
vide high-quality, affordable care to
everyone, regardless of the ability to
pay or insurance status,” she noted.
Nationwide, health centers employ
nearly 300,000 professionals, who
address not only illnesses, but the
social causes that may be behind
them, such as climate change,
homelessness, substance use disor-
ders, food insecurity and behavioral
health.
“At Grace Health, we have nearly
400 staff serving patients in Calhoun
County,” said Craig.
The National Health Center Week
theme this year was “Powering
Communities Through Caring
Connections.”
