A palatable way to boost their food mar-
keting, production and entrepreneurial goals
has 12 finalists in two categories vying for a
$10,000 first prize.
In all, the 2nd Annual Food Prize food
pitch competition Oct. 5 at Battle Creek’s
Kellogg Arena from 3-7 p.m. is giving away
$40,000 to the top four finishers in the two
categories: Food and beverage business/food
service and food manufacturing/production.
Food Prize is a collaborative effort between
Washington Heights United
Methodist Church [WHUMC]

Concert, Oct. 6, 2024 at 3:30 p.m.

“The Calhoun County
Community is invited to wit-
ness a choir concert featuring the
WHUMC praise team and friends,”
said Ballard. “This is the first full
choir concert performed in 30
years at this location. The concert
features a processional, hymn,
spiritual, and spirit filled gospel
choral music selections. Our spe-
cial guest is Yvonne Powell.”
A freewill offering is requested,
he said, and will be used for
resources for the music depart-
ment’s upcoming programing.
Rev. Dr. Monique Roland-
French is the pastor.
“All are encouraged to attend
this afternoon of praise through
song,” said Ballard.
