with the Battle Creek Small Business
Office which is a department of
the City of Battle Creek, as well as
Battle Creek Food Reimagined, a
project of Battle Creek Unlimited led
by Gabriela Perez-Hernandez and
Kellogg Arena to stage the competi-
tion.

last year to do the first, and we
thought it went well, well enough
to try to do a second one,” said

people win something that can help

I’ve experienced that myself. And
so I think the winners and their sto-
ries and how their businesses have
grown inspired us to do another
one after the first one. It was such a
great event, although we can always
have more people attend, it turned
out to be such a great event with
such great spirit of like, just all of
these entrepreneurs getting together,
both being supportive of each other,
and celebrating and practicing giv-
ing pitches. It’s not something that
everybody has the has had the expe-
rience to do.”
Ticket holders can not only pur-
chase food and samples from the
contestants but 20 other food vendors
will be onsite, too, he said.
