The City of Battle Creek will be
replacing the storm water sewer sys-
tem near Goguac Lake, beginning
Monday, Oct. 7.
The project aims to prevent
Columbia Avenue stormwater from
entering Goguac Lake by installing
a new storm sewer from Columbia
Avenue and Hulbert Lane to Latimer
Lane and Eel Street, according to a
city press release.
A road closure and access impact
schedule follows:
Oct. 7-Nov. 22: Latimer Lane will


be closed from Eel Street to the west
end of Latimer Lane.
Oct. 7-14: Limited access to the
Michigan Department of Natural
Resources (DNR) boat launch.
Oct. 14-28: Access to the DNR boat
launch will be closed.
Oct. 28-Nov. 22: Limited access to
the DNR boat launch until pavement
is placed.
The project is part of the city’s
ongoing efforts to improve infrastruc-
ture and water management for resi-
dents, the city said.
