DESCRIPTION: The City is soliciting bids for the purpose of contracting for the City’s annual requirements
for plumbing inspection services. The resulting contract is anticipated for a term of up to five (5) years.
Bids must be in the actual possession of the Purchasing Department by the method indicated herein,
on or prior to the exact time and date indicated above. Bids received by the correct time and date shall
be opened virtually and the amount bid shall be publicly read. Late bids shall not be considered, and the
online bid management system will automatically cut off at the exact due date/time. Please give yourself
enough time to upload your bid.

The aroma of 14 slow-cookers
bubbling with chili will return to St.
Thomas Episcopal Church when the
St. Thomas Chili Cookoff resumes
for the first time in five years on
Friday, Oct. 25.
The cookoff had been an important
fundraiser and fellowship event at
the church, but COVID-19 and sub-
sequent changes in leadership at the
church forced it into hiatus, according
to a recent church press release.
The event not only marks the begin-
ning of soup season, but also a new
season for the church.
Its new priest/rector, the Rev.
Michael Spencer, will be joining after
having moved to Battle Creek just a
couple of weeks before.

engaging with them and actively lis-
tening to them.
“We’re really excited to welcome
the community back in our doors
for the chili cookoff,” said organizer
Becky Squires. “We’re even more
thrilled we’ll be able to introduce
Father Michael to the community,
and the community to him.”
All types of chili are welcome for
the cookoff, including beans, no
beans, traditional, meatless, five-
alarm and more.
Tickets to purchase and sample the
chili, as well as beverages, cornbread
and fixings, and and desserts will be
available.
Musical entertainment will be pro-
vided by local cover band Lucid Vibe
beginning at 6 p.m., but doors will
open and chili will be served at 5:30
p.m.
The band plays a wide array of
genres, from classic rock, country,
blues and pop to more modern styles.
The chili entries will be judged by
four judges, and there will also be a
People’s Choice Award.

church office Monday-Friday, from 9
a.m. to 1 p.m.
The church requests a monetary
donation to enter.
