Cardio rehab program at Bronson
B.C. gets national recertification
Bronson Battle Creek recently announced the
recertification of its cardiovascular rehabilita-
tion program by the American Association of
Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation
(AACVPR).
“This certification recognizes Bronson Battle
Creek’s commitment to improving the qual-
ity of life of patients by enhancing standards
of care,” said spokesperson Marcie McCann.
“The cardiovascular rehabilitation program
at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital has been
AACVPR-certified since 2012.”
Cardiovascular rehabilitation programs are
designed to help patients who have had a heart
event or coronary artery bypass graft surgery
recover faster and live healthier lives through
exercise, education, counseling and support.
“Bronson programs like cardiovascular rehab
aim to provide exceptional care and improve
the quality of life for each patient and their
family,” said Bronson cardiovascular services
supervisor Samantha Vanwoerkom.
To earn accreditation, the BBC cardiovascular
rehabilitation team participated in
an application process that required
extensive documentation of the pro-
gram’s practices.
Using a peer-review accreditation
process, the AACVPR evaluates
rehab programs for adherence to
the highest standards and guidelines
developed and published by a group
of professional societies in the field.
Certification is valid for three years.
AACVPR-certified
programs offer the most
advanced practices avail-
able and have proven track
records of high-quality
patient care.
