LEROY TOWNSHIP PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
The Leroy Township Board will conduct a Public Hearing
on October 17, 2024, at 9:30 am at the Leroy Township Com-
munity Building, 8146 4 Mile Road, East Leroy, MI 49051,
as required under State of Michigan Public Act 188 of 1954,
Public Improvements.
The purpose of the Public Hearing is to determine whether
or not the improvements made to the Edgebrook PS 0-2 Lift
Station, located at 120 Edgebrook Drive, were necessary to
extend its function as a fully operational wastewater lift sta-
tion. Plans and overall costs of the project are on file with the
Township Clerk. They are available for public examination at
the Township Office during normal business work or on the
Township website, http://www.leroytownship.org.
The creation of a Special Assessment District shall be nec-
essary to pay for said improvements. That assessment district
would encompass the following (2) land parcels only in Leroy
Township:


  1. Parcel No. 14-012-015-50

  2. Parcel No. 14-012-006-00
    Township assessing records indicate that both land parcels
    are owed by Caribbean MHC Owner, LLC, 6547 N. Avondale,
    #301, Chicago, Illinois, 60631.
    Periodic redeterminations may be made without further
    notice to record owners or parties in interest of the property.
    Any objection to the necessity of the improvement must be
    done at the Public Hearing on October 17, 2024, or in writing
    to the Leroy Township Board, 8156 4 Mile Road, East Leroy,
    Michigan 49051, either at or before the Public Hearing.

City of Battle Creek
contractor crews began
work last week to mill
and resurface several
local roadways as part
of the city’s 2024 local
rehabilitation project.
This work involves
both milling and resur-
facing several local
roadways, as well as
the replacement of the
asphalt curbs in these
areas, said spokesper-
son Eric McClure.
The following
local roadways are
set to undergo mill-
ing and resurfacing
work: Morningside
Drive; Doverdale
Lane; Greenridge
Road; Cambridge
Drive; Glencroft Lane;
Timberlane Drive;
Knollwood Drive;
Enlow Court; Chapel
Hill Drive; Meadow
Drive, from Riverside
Drive to Morningside
Drive; Hickory Lane,
from West Minges
Road to the end of the
road; Wealthy Avenue,
from West Minges
Road to the end of the
road.
While there are no
expected complete road
closures during this
work, contractor crews
will use barricades
to close sections of each roadway
as they move along throughout the
project.
