She noted that Elliott has
had an illustrious career,
including four decades as
an elementary teacher in the
Battle Creek Public Schools,
where he taught 4th, 5th and
6th grades.
Beyond the classroom, he
served as the director of the
City of Battle Creek Summer
Youth Programs and was

for the Theatre Department at Battle
Creek Central High School.
He also held the role of production
manager and director of the Band

His contributions to education and
the arts extend beyond Battle Creek

As a theater instructor at Kellogg
Community College and drama

Program, Elliott has “inspired count-
less students,” said Balbaugh.
“His leadership as NAACP ACT-

she added.
Elliott’s accolades include
the Calhoun Area School

the National Association of Negro
Business Women’s Clubs, and the
Excellence in Education Award from
the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.
“We are very fortunate to have
someone of Tim’s caliber join our
team,” said Bill White, president of
the board. “His decades of experi-
ence and dedication to the Battle
Creek arts scene will be
of tremendous benefit to
The Music Center and in
fostering creativity and
artistic excellence in our
community.”
