Arad – Bârzava – 60 kilometres
Arad was a bustling town, sporting many old buildings that mainly
appeared to need TLC—fifty years of communism had left their mark.
In addition, there were numerous apartment blocks, all very
unattractive and in poor repair. Arad further appeared to be an
industrial town and a transport hub.
Each country varies greatly, and just as one becomes used to the
how, where, and when, it’s time to cross the border, where everything
is vastly different. In Romania, campsites were few and far between.
Instead, budget accommodation could often be found at truck stops,
typically offering inexpensive food and basic rooms.
