You, the reader, are the most important person in our business. As such, we will never trade your trust for advertising dollars. So you know exactly what you’re
reading, be aware thatstories labelled ‘In Partnership With’ mean a valued sponsor has enabled this content to be brought to life. These stories are created to the
same journalistic standards as our usual features. An ‘Australian Traveller Promotion’ is content created by our valued clients that has been edited by our team.

YOU ARE ABOUT to delve into a magazine that has been
debated, researched and pored over for some weeks; such is the
process of constructing our annual issue, which this year
clocks in at a hefty pages. The size is as much a refl ection of
the diversity of o€ ering in our country as the popularity of the
issue itself with you, our readers.
The starting point for every issue is the theme; this year
it is a call to arms to get o€ the couch (or lounge if you prefer,
another hotly debated topic) and explore your own country,
which the majority of us fail to fully appreciate as we go about our
daily routines. With this seed of an idea in place, we set about
constructing a masterlist of the places and things that we think
will motivate you to set forth on road trips and family holidays,
foodie explorations and island idylls. Of course, given the length
and breadth of the country, the list is often longer than the
requisite entries.
Once we have settled on a list (cue more debate) the research
and writing begins. This year we have chosen to expand on some
experiences to give you a more in-depth idea of what is on o€ er,
like the fascinating story of the Brewarrina Aboriginal Fish Traps
believed to be among the oldest, if not the oldest, human-made
structures on Earth. Or a fi rst-person account of a weekend spent
in a tiny-house stay with equally tiny kids in tow. And a profi le of
the burgeoning arts mecca of Ballarat.
Once our art department has slaved over the jigsaw puzzle of
stunning images and plentiful words, putting them together into
compelling, page-turning designs, it gets printed and delivered
into your hands. Now all that’s left to do is...
Enjoy!
