LIVING EDGE SHOWROOM

NAME: LOCATION: DESIGNER:
PERTH, WA HASSELL

LIVING EDGE, purveyor of relentlessly
sharp, modern designs in furniture and lighting,
recently installed its Perth showroom into a
grand heritage building in the CBD, working
with international design practice Hassell to
tease out the beauty of the old merchant
building that dates back to the early 1900s.
They started by stripping the structure
back to its bare bones and then gently

enhancing the space through the use of
refined materials and insertions that add
interesting layers throughout. “As with all
our showrooms, we try to find a heritage
property, something with history, and yet
something that is still very relevant today,”
explains Aidan Mawhinney, CEO of
Living Edge. “We believe in longevity,
simplicity and sustainability. This building

reflects [the] attributes that we look for in
everything we do.”
The resulting contrast between the old and
the new is very of the moment, and brilliantly
communicatestocustomersthedifferent ways

cancoexistharmoniously.
