tions of the Greek Archaeological Service is required before one can draw any
conclusions about the absence of amphora stamps in large areas of the Greek
mainland.
Another interesting result of the study of the diffusion of amphora stamps
is that most of the find spots lie along coasts. Yet, river transport as well as land
transport is attested, but on a much smaller scale, as one would expect.
