pithoi, and 16 pits that would have contained similar vessels.^17 The
residues inside the storage vessels contained mainly grape pips, while
others contained olives.^18
The Tria Platania estate was not the only one in the area of Herakleion.
The farmhouse at Komboloi (Fig. 4.4) was located on the east side of the
main north–south road between the Vale of Tempe and Pieria, north of
Herakleion andc.3.5 km south-west of the recently discovered acropolis
