In the 11th month (Dec./Jan.,832) of the Chinese year 831, Silla
envoys offered gifts (Ts’e-fu yüan-kuei p.5033).
In the 12th month (Jan./Feb., 837) of the Chinese year 836, a royal
prince from Silla arrived with gifts. He stayed in the Chinese capital
as a member of the imperial guards until he returned to his state on
May 19, 837 (Chiu T’ang shu 199A:13b; Ts’e-fu yüan-kuei p.5033; Wen-
hsien t’ung-k’ao 325:56a).
In the 4th month (May/June) of 840, the Sung ministry of the
Herald announced to Silla that Emperor Wen-tsung had died (on
Feb.10) (Chiu T’ang shu199A:13b).
On Mar.26, 846, the last recorded mission from Silla to T’ang
was received at the court. Thereafter, they no longer came (Wen-hsien
t’ung-k’ao 326:56a).
In the 10th month (Nov./Dec.) of 915, Silla envoys offered regional
objects to the Khitan court (Liao shih 1:8b).
On Dec.28, 923, Silla envoys with regional objects were received at
the Later T’ang court. The chief envoy was appointed to the nominal
office of Grandee for Court Discussion. All were given presents, each
in accordance with his rank (Chiu Wu-tai shih 30:9b; Hsin Wu-tai shih
5:6b;Wu-tai hui-yao 30:10b; Ts’e-fu-yüan-kuei p.5033; Wen-hsien t’ung-
k’ao 326:56a).
On Feb.18, and in the 6th month (July/Aug.) of 924, Silla envoys
offered presents to the Later T’ang court (Chiu Wu-tai shih 31:2a; Hsin
Wu-tai shih 5:6b; Ts’e-fu-yüan-kuei p.5034).
On Dec.8, 925, Silla offered gifts to the Khitan court (Liao shih 2:
5b; 70:2b).
In 926 or earlier, Silla sent envoys to the king of Wu-yüeh,^33 Ch’ien
Liu (Chiu Wu-tai shih 133:16a).
On Mar.26, 927, Silla envoys offered regional objects to the Later
T’ang court. In the 3rd month (Apr./May), the Later T’ang conferred
the title of General-in-chief Who Cherishes Civilization on a Silla
dignitary. In the 4th month (May/June), Silla envoys again arrived
at the Later T’ang court. They were received in audience and given
presents, each in accordance with his rank (Chiu Wu-tai shih 38:3a,5b;
Wu-tai hui-yao 30:10b, 11a; Ts’e-fu-yüan-kuei p.5034; Wen-hsien t’ung-k’ao
326:56a).
