of the Han-lin Academy to congratulate the king of Koryo on his
birthday (Chin shih 6:22a).
On Jan.30, 1169, the New Year’s Day, Koryo envoys congratulated
at the Chin court (Chin shih 6:22a).
On Mar.30, 1169, Koryo envoys to the Chin court congratulated
on the birthday of Shih-tsung (Chin shih 6:22b).

Having overthrown his brother Wang Hsien in 1170, Wang Hao
(Myongjong) informed Chin in the 4th month (May/June)^87 of 1171
that Wang Hsien had “abdicated” (he was murdered in 1173) and that
he had succeeded him. Shih-tsung sent a Gentleman-in-Attendance
of the Ministry of Personnel to Koryo to find out the facts (Chin shih
6:27a; 135:6a).
In the 12th month (Dec./Jan.1172) of the Chin year 1171, the
king of Koryo, Wang Hao, sent a Gentleman-in-Attendance of the
Ministry of Rites to the Chin court and asked for recognition (Chin
shih 135:6b).
On Jan.27, 1172, the New Year’s Day, Koryo envoys congratulated
at the Chin court (Chin shih 7:1a).
On Mar.26, 1172, Koryo envoys to the Chin court congratulated
