On Dec.5, 1180, Shih-tsung sent the Junior Grand Master of
Ceremonies to congratulate the king of Koryo on his birthday (Chin
shih 7:20a).
On Jan.17, 1181, the New Year’s Day, Koryo envoys congratulated
at the Chin court (Chin shih 8:1a).
On Mar.17, 1181, Koryo envoys to the Chin court congratulated
on the birthday of Shih-tsung (Chin shih 8:1b-2a).^91
On Feb.5, 1182, the New Year’s Day, Koryo envoys congratulated
at the Chin court.
On On Apr.5, 1182, Koryo envoys to the Chin court congratulated
on the birthday of Shih-tsung.
On Apr.5, 1182, Koryo envoys to the Chin court congratulated on
the birthday of Shih-tsung (Chin shih 8:3b).
On Dec.14, 1182, Shih-tsung sent an Auxiliary General to con-
gratulate the king of Koryo on his birthday (Chin shih 8:4a).
On Jan.26, 1183, the New Year’s Day, Koryo envoys congratulated
at the Chin court (Chin shih 8:4b).
On Mar.26, 1183, Koryo envoys to the Chin congratulated on the
birthday of Shih-tsung (Chin shih 8:4b).
In the 3rd month (Mar./Apr.) of 1183, Shih-tsung sent the Director
of the Grand Judge with gifts to Koryo (Chin shih 8:5a).
On Feb.8, 1184, envoys from the king of Koryo to the Chin court
announced the death of his mother (Chin shih 8:7a).
On Dec.13, 1184, Shih-tsung announced that because the distance to
the Supreme Capital (in central Manchuria) was great and its weather
cold, Koryo and Hsia were exempted from congratulating him on his
birthday and Southern Sung from congratulating on the New Year’s
Day (Chin shih 8:9a).
On Dec.21, 1184, Shih-tsung sent a Supernumerary Gentleman of
the Ministry of Rites to congratulate the king of Koryo on his birthay.
Because of the death of his mother, Wang Hao declined the gifts. This

Koryo’s congratulations to Chin on the New Year’s Day of 1182, as well as Chin’s
congratulations on the birthday of the king of Koryo in 1181, and perhaps a mis-
sion with gifts to Koryo earlier that year. However, the dates for the New Year and
birthday congratulations can be reconstituted.
