(Jan./Feb., 717) of the Chinese year 716, Mo-ho chiefs were received
at the T’ang court (Ts’e-fu yüan-kuei p.5027).
In the 3rd (Apr./May) and 5th month (June/July) of 717, Mo-ho
envoys offered regional objects (Ts’e-fu yüan-kuei p.5027).
In the 2nd month (Mar./Apr.) of 718, Mo-ho envoys were received
at the T’ang court (Ts’e-fu yüan-kuei p.5027).
In the 1st month (Jan./Feb.) of 719, envoys from the Mo-ho, the
T’ieh-li Mo-ho, and the Yüeh-hsi Mo-ho were received at the T’ang
court. In the 2nd month (Feb./Mar.) of the same year, Mo-ho envoys
presented regional objects (Ts’e-fu yüan-kuei p.5027).
In the 3rd month (Mar./Apr.) of 719, it became known at the
T’ang court that Ta Tso-jung had died. In the 6th month (June/July),
Emperor Hsüan-tsung sent envoys to condole and sacrifice, to appoint
Wu-yi, Tso-jung’s son by his legitimate wife, as General-in-chief of the
Resolute Guards of the Left and Military Governor of the non-exist-
ing Hu-han Area Command, and to recognize him as king of Po-hai
(Chiu T’ang shu 199B:11b-12a; Tzu-chih t’ung-chien p.6735; Wen-hsien
t’ung-k’ao 326:57b).
In the 8th month (Sep./Oct.) of 719, Mo-ho envoys presented
maritime products, sable furs, and white hare furs (Ts’e-fu yüan-kuei
p.5027).
On Nov.29, 721, a Mo-ho chief from Po-hai was received at the
T’ang court and was appointed an officer of the Asssault-resisting Gar-
rison. In 722, another Mo-ho chief came to the court (Ts’e-fu yüan-kuei
p.5027;Wen-hsien t’ung-k’ao 326:57a).
In the 11th month (Dec./Jan., 723) of the Chinese year 722, a high
Po-hai official offered falcons (Ts’e-fu yüan-kuei p.5027).
In the 2nd month (Mar./Apr.) of 724, a high official of the Po-hai
Mo-ho was received at T’ang court. He was presented with 50 bolts
of silk (Ts’e-fu yüan-kuei p.5028).
In the 12th month (Dec./Jan.,725) of the Chinese year 724, an
envoy from the Yüeh-hsi Mo-ho arrived at the T’ang court to con-
gratulate on the New Year’s Day and offer regional objects (Ts’e-fu
yüan-kuei p.5028).
On Feb.18, 725, the New Year’s Day, a Po-hai chief congratu-
lated at the T’ang court and offered regional objects (Ts’e-fu yüan-kuei
p.5028).
In 726, the Black River Mo-ho sent envoys to the T’ang court.
Hsüan-tsung responded with envoys of his own and named their terri-
tory the Black River Area Command. The king of Po-hai, Ta Wu-yi,
