(Oct./Nov) of the same year, Po-hai Mo-ho envoys presented sable
furs and fabrics (Ts’e-fu yüan-kuei p.5029).
In the 2nd month (Feb./Mar.) of 741, a high official of the Po-hai
Mo-ho and a chief of the Yüeh-hsi Mo-ho were received at the T’ang
court. In the 4th month (Apr./May) of the same year, Po-hai Mo-ho
envoys presented falcons (Ts’e-fu yüan-kuei p.5029).
At some time between 742 and 756, Hsüan-tsung made Ch’in-mao
a Specially Advanced and Supervisor for Guests of the Household of
the Heir-apparent (Chiu T’ang shu 199B:13a).
In the 3rd month (Mar./Apr.) of 746, Po-hai envoys arrived at the
court (Ts’e-fu yüan-kuei p.5030).
On Feb.14, 747, the New Year’s Day, Po-hai envoys congratu-
lated at the T’ang court and offered regional objects (Ts’e-fu yüan-kuei
p.5030).
In the 3rd month (Mar./Apr.) of 749, Po-hai envoys presented
falcons. In the 3rd month (Apr./May) of 750, they again presented
falcons (Ts’e-fu yüan-kuei p.5030).
In the 3rd month (Apr./May) of 753, Po-hai envoys arrived at the
court (Ts’e-fu yüan-kuei p.5030).
On Jan.28, 754, the New Year’s Day, Po-hai envoys congratulated
at the T’ang court (Ts’e-fu yüan-kuei p.5031).
In 762, the Chinese emperor^14 “promoted” Ch’in-mao to King of
State. Between 766 and 779, Tai-tsung appointed Ch’in-mao [Acting]
Minister of Works and Acting Grand Commandant (Chiu T’ang shu
199B:13a;Wen-hsien t’ung-k’ao 326:58a).^15
In the 7th month (July/Aug.) of 767, Po-hai envoys were received
at the T’ang court (Ts’e-fu yüan-kuei p.5031).
On Sep.6, 767, Po-hai envoys were received at the T’ang court
(Ts’e-fu yüan-kuei p.5031).
In the 9th (Sep./Oct.), 11th (Nov./Dec.), and 12th month (Dec./
Jan., 768) of the Chinese year 767, Po-hai envoys offered gifts (Ts’e-fu
yüan-kuei p.5031).
In the 3rd (Apr./May) month of 769, Po-hai Mo-ho envoys offered
presents, and in the 12th month (Jan., 770) of the same Chinese year,
Po-hai envoys again offered gifts (Ts’e-fu yüan-kuei p.5031).
In the autumn of 772, Po-hai and Mo-ho envoys offered gifts, and
