In the 1st month (Feb./Mar.) of 802, Nan-chao envoys were received
in audience at the T’ang court (Ts’e-fu yüan-kuei p.5032).
On Jan.27, 803, the New Year’s Day, Te-tsung received the
congratulations of a Nan-chao mission. The chief envoy was made a
Probationary Junior Grand Coachman (Chiu T’ang shu 107:9b).
In the 12th month (Jan./Feb., 805) of the Chinese year 804, Nan-
chao envoys offered gifts (Chiu T’ang shu 13:21b; 197:9b; Ts’e-fu yüan-
kuei p.5032).
In 805, a Nan-chao envoy [sacrificed] at the tomb of Te-tsung^44
(T’ang hui-yao 99:6a).
In the 8th (Sep./Oct.) and 12th month (Jan./Feb., 807) of the
Chinese year 806, Nan-chao envoys offered presents (Ts’e-fu yüan-kuei
p.5032).
In the 2nd month (Mar./Apr.) of 807, Nan-chao envoys offered
gifts. In the 8th month (Sep./Oct.), a new mission arrived at the T’ang
court, whose head was appointed Probationary Palace Inspector. In
the 12th month (January, 808) of the Chinese year 807, Nan-chao
envoys arrived at the T’ang court to congratulate [on the New Year’s

6a;Ts’e-fu yüan-kuei p.5032).
In 808, Yi-mou-hsün died, whereupon Emperor Hsien-tsung on
Jan.6, 809,^45 suspended the court for three days. On Jan.8,^46 the
emperor ordered a Grandee Remonstrant and Consultant and Con-
current Palace Assistant Secretary to condole and sacrifice in Nan-chao
and to recognize Yi-mou-hsün’s son Hsün-ko-ch’üan as king. But it
was then decided that the envoy’s rank was too low, and he was in the
1st month (Jan./Feb.) of 809 replaced by the Junior Grand Master of
Ceremonies (Chiu T’ang shu 14:13b; 197:9b; T’ang hui-yao 99:6; Tzu-chih
t’ung-chien p.7656; Wen-hsien t’ung-k’ao 329:71a).
In the 12th month (Jan./Feb., 810) of the Chinese year 809, Nan-
chao envoys offered gifts. It may have been this embasasy which
informed the T’ang court that Hsün-ko-ch’üan had died that year
and been succeeded by his son Ch’üan-lung-sheng (Ts’e-fu yüan-kuei
p.5032;Tzu-chih t’ung-chien p.7668; Wen-hsien t’ung-k’ao 329:71b).
