Favours Civilization (Chiu Wu-tai shih 39:6a; 138:4b; Hsin Wu-tai shih
6:6b;Wu-tai hui-yao 28:9a Ts’e-fu yüan-kuei p.5034;Wen-hsien t’ung-k’ao
347:30a).
In the 12th month (Jan./Feb., 929) of the Chinese year 928, Uighurs
offered gifts to the Later T’ang court (Ts’e-fu yüan-kuei p.5034).
On Mar.5, 929, a mission of five men from the qaghan of Kan chou
was received at the Later T’ang court. All were appointed Manag-
ers of Lances (Chiu Wu-tai shih 138:4b; Hsin Wu-tai shih 6:7b; Wu-tai
hui-yao 28:9a).
In June 13, 930, Uighurs offered gifts to the Later T’ang court.
On June 16, Uighurs again offered gifts (Hsin Wu-tai shih 6:8b; Ts’e-fu
yüan-kueip.5035).
On June 20, 930, the Uighur qaghan of Kan chou offered gifts
to the Later T’ang court (Chiu Wu-tai shih 41: 7a-7b; Ts’e-fu yüan-kuei
p.5035).
On Jan.19, 931, a Uighur mission of 30 men from the qaghan of
Kan chou to the Later T’ang court offered 80 horses and one jade
lump (Chiu Wu-tai shih 41:13a; 138:4b; Hsin Wu-tai shih 6:9b).
On Jan.26, 932, a Uighur envoy to the Later T’ang court offered
gifts (Hsin Wu-tai shih 6:10a Ts’e-fu yüan-kuei p.5035).
On Mar.6, 932, envoys from the Qaghan Who Favours Civiliza-
tion, i.e. the ruler of Kan chou, to the Later T’ang court offered gifts
(Hsin Wu-tai shih 6:10b; Ts’e-fu yüan-kuei p.5035).
On Aug.14, 933, a Uighur mission of 30 men^102 to the Later T’ang
court presented a white falcon. Ming-tsung summoned the envoys
to an audience and rewarded them liberally. He released the falcon
(Chiu Wu-tai shih 138:4b-5a; Hsin Wu-tai shih 6:11a; Wu-tai hui-yao 28:
9b;Ts’e-fu yüan-kuei p.5035).
In the 1st month (Jan./Feb.) of 934, envoys from the newly
enthroned Uighur qaghan of Kan chou to the Later T’ang court
offered horse trappings and other testamentary gifts of his late pre-
decessor. He presented on his own two jade lumps, horse trappings,
uncut gems, goral horns, valuable Persian textiles, and a jade belt
(Ts’e-fu yüan-kuei p.5035).
On Aug.6, 935, a Uighur mission of 78 men^103 to the Later T’ang
(Mar./Apr.), but that month did not have the cyclical characteres in question. 102
Ts’e-fu yüan-kuei says 31 men.
