In the 10th month (Oct./Nov.) of 995, the qaghan of Kan chou
offered regional objects to the Sung court (Sung hui-yao kao ts’e 197:
2b).
On Nov.3. 995, Uighurs offered gifts to the Liao court (Liao shih
13:6b).
In 996, the Uighur qaghan of Kan chou offered gifts to the Sung
court (Wen-hsien t’ung-k’ao 347:30b).
On Mar.11, 996, Mar.29,^111 in the 6th month (June/July), and on
Aug.6, 996, Uighurs offered gifts to the Liao court (Liao shih 13:7a,
7b; 70:9b).
In the 4th month (Apr./May) of 998, a Buddhist priest and other
envoys from the qaghan of Kan chou to the Sung court offered gifts
(Sung hui-yao kao ts’e 197:2b).
In the 12th month (Dec./Jan., 999) of the Chinese year 998, the
Uighur qaghan of Kan-chou offered gifts to the Sung court (Sung shih
6:6a).
In the 12th month (Jan./Feb., 1001) of the Liao year 1000, Uighurs
offered gifts to the Liao court (Liao shih 14:2a).
On Feb.7, 1001, Uighurs offered a Buddhist priest and a famous
physician to the Liao court (Liao shih 14:2b).
In the 4th month (Apr./May) of 1001, an envoy from the Uighur
qaghan Lu-sheng to the Sung court offered jade horse trappings, fine
horses, dromedaries and humpless camels, iron swords and armour,
and precious vessels of opaque glass. The envoy was appointed Gen-
eral-in-chief of the Army of Divine Warlikeness of the Left, and the
qaghan was presented with vessels and garments (Sung shih 6:13a; 490:
13b-14a;Wen-hsien t’ung-k’ao 347:30b).
In the 9th month (Sep./Oct.) of 1004, a mission of 29 men from the
Uighur qaghan of Kan chou to the Sung court offered gifts (Sung shih
490:14a;Sung hui-yao kao ts’e 197:3a; Wen-hsien t’ung-k’ao 347:30b).
In the autumn of 1004, the Uighurs living in the Western Capital
(Lo-yang) were forbidden by the Sung government to trade privately
(Sung hui-yao kao ts’e 197:3a).
On May 30, 1005,^112 Uighurs offered gifts to the Liao court (Liao
shih 14:6a).

did not have the cyclical characters in question, so that 3rd month = May 30 is
