On Nov.2, 1134, Hsia envoys to the Chin court congratulated on
the birthday of T’ai-tsung (Chin shih 3:17a).
On Feb.13, 1135, Emperor Hsi-tsung of Chin sent envoys to inform
Hsia that T’ai-tsung had died on Feb.9 (Chin shih 4:1b).
On Jan.29, 1136, the Chin court for the first time established a
protocol for the envoys from Hsia and Koryo (Chin shih 4:2a).
On Feb.4, 1136, the New Year’s Day, Hsia envoys congratulated
at the Chin court. On Feb.20, they congratulated on the birthday of
Hsi-tsung (Chin shih 4:2b).^38
On Jan.23, 1137, the New Year’s Day, Hsia envoys congratulated
at the Chin court. On Feb.8, they congratulated on the birthday of
Hsi-tsung (Chin shih 4:3a).
On Feb.12, 1138, the New Year’s Day, Hsia envoys congratulated
at the Chin court. On Feb.28, they congratulated on the birthday of
Hsi-tsung (Chin shih 4:3b).
On Feb.1, 1139, the New Year’s Day, Hsia envoys congratulated
at the Chin court. On Feb.17, they congratulated on the birthday of
Hsi-tsung (Chin shih 4:4b).
On June 30, 1139, Li Ch’ien-shun of Hsia died, aged 57. His temple
name was Ch’ung-tsung. He was succeeded by his eldest son Jen-hsiao,
aged 16 (Sung shih 29:6b; 486:20a).^39
On Nov.19, 1139, Hsia envoys to the Chin court announced the
death of Ch’ien-shun (Chin shih 4:5b).
On Jan.22, 1140,the New Year’s Day, Hsia envoys congratulated
at the Chin court. On Feb.7, they congratulated on the birthday of
Hsi-tsung (Chin shih 4:5b, 6a).
In the 3rd month (Mar./Apr.) of 1140, Emperor Kao-tsung of South-
ern Sung sent an envoy to Hsia, inviting them to offer gifts. The Hsia
government did not respond (Sung shih 29:9b; 486:20a-20b).
On May 23, 1140, Hsi-tsung recognized Jen-hsiao as king of Hsia
(Chin shih 4:6a).
In the 9th month (Oct./Nov.) of 1140, Hsia envoys to the Chin
court thanked for the contribution to the funeral expenses for Ch’ien-
shun (Chin shih 4:6b).
a letter to Hsia. In the 12th month (Dec./Jan., 1135) of the Chinese year 1134, he
memorialized Emperor Kao-tsung that the Hsia State frequently sent letters (Sung
shih 26:21b-22a; 486:19a). 38
