On Mar.3, 940, envoys from the ruler of Wu-yüeh to the Khitan
court offered gifts (Liao shih 4:4a).
On Mar.7, 940, T’ai-tsung sent an envoy to the Later Chin court
to congratulate on the birthday of Kao-tsu^27 (Liao shih 4:4a).
On Apr.12, 940, T’ai-tsung sent envoys to the Later Chin court to
announce that he was visiting his Southern Capital (Liao shih 4:4b).
On May 9, 940, envoys from Later Chin and Southern T’ang to
the Khitan court were received in audience by T’ai-tsung (Liao shih
4:4b).
On May 16, 940, T’ai-tsung sent envoys to the Later Chin court
(Liao shih 4:4b).
On May 20, 940, the Commissioner of Palace Attendants and other
Later Chin envoys to the Khitan court inquired about the well-being
of T’ai-tsung (Liao shih 4:4b).
On May 26, 940, T’ai-tsung gave a banquet for the envoys from
Later Chin and other countries (Liao shih 4:4b).
On May 30, 940, Later Chin envoys to the Khitan court presented
tea and drugs (Liao shih 4:4b).
On June 6, 940, Later Chin envoys arrived at the Khitan court
to congratulate on the Dragon Boat Festival of June 13. T’ai-tsung
distributed the presents among his officials (Liao shih 4:4b).
On June 8, 940, Southern T’ang envoys to the Khitan court pre-
sented a white tortoise (Liao shih 4:4b).
On the Dragon Boat Festival of June 13, 940, T’ai-tsung gave a
banquet for his officials and the envoys from the various countries.
He ordered the two envoys from the Uighurs and from Tun-huang
(Sha chou) to perform their native dances so that all the envoys might
see them (Liao shih 4:4b-5a).
On June 23, 940, the Later Chin envoys offered bows and arrows
to the Khitan court (Liao shih 4:5a).
On June 27, 940, T’ai-tsung sent one of his sons and an Acting
Minister over the Masses as envoys to the Later Chin court (Liao shih
4:5a).
On July 13, 940,^28 Later Chin envoys to the Khitan court were
received in audience (Liao shih 4:5a).
On Sep.2, 940, Later Chin envoys to the Khitan court announced
