Seng-kao, Wu-ling, Chia-cha, Chiu-mi

In the 1st month (Jan.Feb.) of 638, envoys from these four states
offered gifts to the T’ang court. Soon thereafter, between 650 and
656, they were annexed by Chen-la.
In the 6th month (Sep./Oct.) of 671, envoys from the king of the
Chiu-mi State presented regional objects (Ts’e-fu yüan-kuei pp.5024,
5026;Wen-hsien t’ung-k’ao 331:12b). It follows that he must have ruled
his dependency as a vassal of Chen-la.

Chan-po or Chan-p’o

In 657, envoys from Chan-po to the T’ang court offered a tame
elephant and a rhinoceros (Hsin T’ang shu 222C:4b; Ts’e-fu yüan-kuei
p.5025)

Lo-hu

In the 11th month (Oct./Nov.) of 1155, Lo-hu presented a tame
elephant to the Sung court (Sung shih 31:6b).

Chen-li-fu

On Sep.23, 1200, a local administrator on the south coast of the Bay
of Hang-chou in Che-chiang reported to the Southern Sung court
that envoys had arrived from the ruler of the Chen-li-fu State to offer
two elephants, 20 elephant tusks, 50 rhinoceros horns, and 40 lengths
of cotton (Sung hui-yao kao ts’e 197).
On Oct.10, 1201, the Chen-li-fu State presented two tame elephants,
11 pieces of cotton, and two pieces of large cotton (Sung shih 38:3a;
Sung hui-yao kao ts’e 197).
On Sep.9. 1205, Chen-li-fu presented another elephant, two elephant
tusks, and 10 rhinoceros horns (Sung shih 38:11a; Sung hui-yao kao ts’e
197).
It is clear that the envoys, from Chen-li-fu, as no doubt all others
from the area of Cambodia, arrived by sea and that in Southern Sung
times they landed close to the capital of Lin-an.
