Aromatics

The Chinese made no clear distinction between drugs, incenses, per-
fumes, cosmetics etc.^187 It means that this section brings together a
somewhat heterogeneous collection of items. For instance, sandalwood
was a fragrant wood but also used for carving. Camphor was used a
a medicinal agent but also as an insect repellent.
